The Clarke County Litter Committee is a seven-member group appointed by the Board of Supervisors to raise public awareness to discourage littering and promote recycling. The mission of the Clarke County Litter Committee is to educate, inspire, and empower the community to improve the environment through beautification and litter prevention.

Litter Committee meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month in the second-floor meeting space of the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center located at 101 Chalmers Ct. in Berryville, Va. All meetings are open to the public.
Volunteering for litter clean-up events
If you are interested in participating in the Committee's clean-up events, please email us at litterfree@clarkecounty.gov to be added to our email notification list or if you have questions. You can also contact County staff in the Department of Planning for more information at 540-955-5132.
Individuals who participate in clean-up events are asked to read and sign Litter Committee Safety Rules and Waiver.

Saturday, January 17 (9:00AM) -- Intersection of Route 7 and North Buckmarsh Street (US 340)
Saturday, March 21 (9:00AM) -- Salem Church Road (between Senseny Road and Opequon Road)
Saturday, May 30 (9:00AM) -- Shenandoah River Boat Ramps (locations to be determined)
Saturday, June 20 (9:00AM) -- Salem Church Road (between Senseny Road and Opequon Road)
Saturday, July 11 (9:00AM) -- Shenandoah River Boat Ramps (locations to be determined)
If your organization or neighborhood is planning a litter clean-up event, the Litter Committee has supplies to lend to support your efforts. Please contact County staff in the Department of Planning (540-955-5132) or email litterfree@clarkecounty.gov for more information.
