DESCRIPTION:<p>Berryville-Clarke County Government Center<br>second floor, Main meeting room<br>101 Chalmers Ct., Berryville VA&nbsp;<br><em>(End time is approximate.)</em></p><p>The Clarke County Planning Commission will hold two public hearings on<b> Friday, July 10, 2026 at 9:00AM</b> in the Main Meeting Room, 2<sup>nd</sup> floor, Berryville-Clarke County Government Center, 101 Chalmers Court, Berryville, VA, to consider action on the following item:</p><p><b><u>2026 Rural Lands Plan</u></b></p><p>The Rural Lands Plan is a new implementing component plan of the 2022 Clarke County Comprehensive Plan. The Plan's purpose is to provide guidance and recommendations on issues impacting the County’s rural, unincorporated areas outside of the towns of Berryville and Boyce. The Plan replaces two current component plans – the 2016 Agricultural Land Plan and the 2005 Mountain Land Plan – and adds new planning recommendations for the villages of Millwood and White Post. Narratives are included which describe the tools used to implement the County’s vision for protecting the rural areas, the scope of the County’s agricultural industry and how it is to be regulated and supported, what residents should expect when living in the rural areas, and challenges and emerging threats to quality of life. The Plan will be used to guide future land use decisions; develop policies, programs, and regulations; and plan for County infrastructure investments. Any person desiring to speak on the above matter should appear at the public hearing. Written copies of statements are requested but not required.&nbsp; Clarke County does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in admission to its programs and activities. Accommodations will be made for handicapped persons upon prior request.</p>
