PH2026-07. 2026 Rural Lands Plan. The Rural Lands Plan is a new implementing component plan of the 2022 Clarke County Comprehensive Plan. The Plan's purpose is to provide guidance and recommendations on issues impacting the County’s rural, unincorporated areas outside of the towns of Berryville and Boyce. The Plan replaces two current component plans – the 2016 Agricultural Land Plan and the 2005 Mountain Land Plan – and adds new planning recommendations for the villages of Millwood and White Post. Narratives are included which describe the tools used to implement the County’s vision for protecting the rural areas, the scope of the County’s agricultural industry and how it is to be regulated and supported, what residents should expect when living in the rural areas, and challenges and emerging threats to quality of life. The Plan will be used to guide future land use decisions; develop policies, programs, and regulations; and plan for County infrastructure investments. Information regarding the Rural Lands Plan may be viewed on the County website at: https://www.clarkecounty.gov/government/planning-zoning/comprehensive-plan-implementing-component-plans/rural-lands-plan

Any person desiring to speak on the above matters should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements are requested but not required.
