The Clarke County Board of Supervisors is providing notice of an intention to propose ordinances for passage and will conduct three public hearings in the Berryville Clarke County Government Center Main Meeting Room, 101 Chalmers Court, 2nd Floor, Berryville, VA, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 6:30 pm, or as soon thereafter as the matters may be heard, to hear public comment on the following:

PH2025-11: TA-25-03. Deferrals of Applications Under Review. Proposed text amendment to Zoning Ordinance Section 2.4.3 (Deferral of Application Review) and Subdivision Ordinance Section 2.2.3 (Deferral of Application Review). The text amendment would limit any deferral request made by an applicant on a zoning or subdivision application and approved by the Zoning Administrator to a maximum of three months from the application filing date. The text amendment would also clarify that deferral requests made by an applicant to an advisory or decision-making body shall be to address unresolved issues with the application, and that the body has the right to deny the request if the body concludes that the applicant is not making a good faith effort to resolve the issues. Language is added to clarify that the applicant is responsible for any additional fees incurred as a result of the deferral.

Information regarding the above matters, including copies of the proposed text amendments, may be examined on the County’s website (www.clarkecounty.gov) and at the County Administration office located in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center, 101 Chalmers Court, Berryville, Virginia. Any person desiring to speak on the above matters should appear at the appointed time and place.
