The Clarke County Board of Supervisors is providing notice of an intention to propose ordinances for passage and will conduct three public hearings in the Berryville Clarke County Government Center Main Meeting Room, 101 Chalmers Court, 2nd Floor, Berryville, VA, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 6:30 pm, or as soon thereafter as the matters may be heard, to hear public comment on the following:

PH2025-10: TA-25-02. Spring Conservation Overlay District (SC) Regulations. Proposed text amendment to Zoning Ordinance Section 4.2.2B (Spring Conservation Overlay District, Special Regulations for Subsurface Septic Systems). The purpose is to replace outdated references to low pressure distribution septic systems with current alternative onsite sewage disposal system technologies for those systems that are subject to the requirements of Section 4.2.2B. The amendment requires alternative systems to be inspected annually, conventional systems to be inspected and maintained at a minimum every five years, and all reports to be submitted via the County’s online records system. Outdated references to technical documents are proposed for deletion.

Information regarding the above matters, including copies of the proposed text amendments, may be examined on the County’s website (www.clarkecounty.gov) and at the County Administration office located in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center, 101 Chalmers Court, Berryville, Virginia. Any person desiring to speak on the above matters should appear at the appointed time and place.
