The Clarke County Board of Supervisors is providing notice of an intention to propose ordinances for passage and will conduct three public hearings in the Berryville Clarke County Government Center Main Meeting Room, 101 Chalmers Court, 2nd Floor, Berryville, VA, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 6:30 pm, or as soon thereafter as the matters may be heard, to hear public comment on the following:

PH2025-09: TA-25-01. Double Tollgate Light Industrial (DT-LI) District and Uses. Proposed text amendment to the Clarke County Zoning Ordinance (County Code Chapter 200) to add new Section 4.1.6, Double Tollgate Light Industrial District (DT-LI), new Section 5.2F (Uses, Definitions, and Use Regulations – Double Tollgate Light Industrial (DT-LI) District Uses), and to amend the uses “Farm Machinery Sales and Service” and “Farm Supplies Sales” in Section 5.2C (Business Uses). The purpose is to create a new light industrial zoning district to be applied only on lots located within Sub-Area C of the Double Tollgate plan area as designated in the current edition of the Double Tollgate Area Plan. The amendment would also create 13 new by-right uses and 2 new special uses that would be allowable only in the proposed district.

Information regarding the above matters, including copies of the proposed text amendments, may be examined on the County’s website (www.clarkecounty.gov) and at the County Administration office located in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center, 101 Chalmers Court, Berryville, Virginia. Any person desiring to speak on the above matters should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements are requested but not required.
