Public Hearing Notices

Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

 

Public Hearing: Ordinance Approving Employee Salary Bonus

The Clarke County Board of Supervisors is providing notice of an intention to propose ordinances for passage and will conduct three public hearings in the Berryville Clarke County Government Center Main Meeting Room, 101 Chalmers Court, 2nd Floor, Berryville, VA, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 6:30 pm, or as soon thereafter as the matters may be heard, to hear public comment on the following:

PH2025-07. Proposed ordinance approving a 1.5% salary bonus to qualifying full-time employees and a $500 bonus to qualifying part-time employees to be paid on July 1, 2025. This bonus is intended to be consistent with the bonus approved by the Virginia General Assembly for certain county employees.

Information regarding the above matters, including copies of the proposed text amendments, may be examined on the County’s website (www.clarkecounty.gov) and at the County Administration office located in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center, 101 Chalmers Court, Berryville, Virginia. Any person desiring to speak on the above matters should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements are requested but not required. Clarke County does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in admission to its programs and activities. Accommodations will be made for handicapped persons upon prior request.
