Smithfield Farm

Built in 1824, the 8th generation of the Smith family continues to own and operate the farm. Bear’s Den Youth Hostel

Bears Den is located on Blue Ridge Mountain Road (Route 601). Build in 1933 as a summer home, it is reminiscent of a European castle, complete with turrets and a tower. Without a doubt, this hostel is one of the most impressive hostels in the eastern United States.
