The Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division consists of eight Patrol Deputies, one Patrol Sgt., and one Traffic Enforcement Deputy. The Patrol Division enforces the Criminal Code of VA, Clarke County Ordinances, traffic laws, investigates crimes, and performs service of civil papers.

The Sheriff’s Office provides a property check and extra patrol request program. Citizens can fill out and print the forms (see links below), and mail or fax them to the Sheriff’s Office. The residence and business security request allows for your home or business to be checked while you are away or your business is closed. This is not an alternative to practicing good security measures to reduce the risk of criminal activities; however, this program offers an added measure of security.

The extra patrol request program is for citizens to alert the Sheriff’s Office to potential issues involving traffic concerns or areas of the County that a citizen believes needs more attention to reduce possible crime in a particular area.
